 "The Heart of a Stranger"

 is a Christmas novella for Tyndale's Christmas Prodigal/Homecoming anthology--due out in the fall of 2003. Other authors in the collection are Diane Noble and Kathleen Fuller. I am sooo excited to have the privelege of joining these talented ladies and becoming a new author for Tyndale.  :-)

In 1889, after their stagecoach loses a wheel on the desolate plains, Susannah and her companion are rescued by a stranger on horseback. Little does Susannah know that the man helping them is her childhood friend, Justin--once a member of an outlaw gang that ruined her family's life. Fresh out of jail, Justin is returning home to the New Mexico territory, leery of the welcome he'll receive.  He wants to rectify past mistakes and act on his newfound faith--but during their long trek home, decides it best to shield his identity from Susannah, whom he hasn't seen in six years. When she discovers the truth, can she look beyond the painful past and, in so doing, find the true heart of the stranger?
